The Amos Shinkle Townhouse
is a Bed & Breakfast Hotel located on the riverfront in
Covington, Kentucky, directly across the
Ohio River from downtown Cincinnati.
We look forward to
accommodating your lodging needs during your visit to Cincinnati
and Northern Kentucky, and we invite you to
discover why the New York Times describes the Amos Shinkle Townhouse as
"….. one of the most beautiful places to sleep in the Cincinnati area."
Listed on the
National Historic Register, it is located in
Covington's Licking-Riverside Historic District, just a
block-and-a-half from the Ohio River and two
blocks from the Licking River.
Built in 1854 by Amos
Shinkle, one of the area's most prominent 19th century figures, the
Amos Shinkle Townhouse retains the beauty and grandeur
that defined elegance during the era.
Vaulting sixteen foot
ceilings are featured in the main house, along with intricately detailed
cornice work and beautifully crafted woodwork and flooring.
